Robin Williams would have died if he'd not gone to rehab: Son

Washington, Nov 24 (ANI): Robin Williams' son has said that the actor would have died if he had not sought help for his alcoholism.

The comedian has long battled a dependence on drink and relapsed badly three years ago, alarming those close to him with a series of self-destructive binges.

Williams' 26-year-old son Zak has revealed that he and other close family members staged an intervention to force the funnyman into rehab.

"There was an ultimatum attached to it," Contactmusic quoted him as telling the New York Times.

And he's glad he stepped in and took action, adding: "I'm pretty confident that if he continued drinking, he would not be alive today." (ANI)
