Islamic Fashion Festival VIII launched in Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur, Nov. 24 (ANI): The Islamic Fashion Festival VIII has been launched in style in Kuala Lumpur, featuring designs from Royal Terengganu Songket and Muslim wear designers.
Gracing the event was the Raja Perempuan Perlis Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid, and other members of the royalty, the Star Online reports.
Renowned designers from the Middle East, Italy, Britain, Indonesia and Malaysia are participating in IFF VIII.
Going by the theme "Ahlan Wasahlan" or "Welcome", the designs will feature a Middle Eastern influence.
Raja Rezza Shah, founder and chairman of the KL-Jakarta IFF VIII, said: "We are working on ways to position IFF as an active player in the fashion industry with a truly global presence.
"Monte Carlo will be our next destination and this marks a great achievement to everyone who have been very committed to bringing Islamic fashion to the fore," he added.
Since its launch in 2006, the IFF which has brought together designers from various parts of the world including, India, the Philippines, Indonesia and Pakistan. ANI)
