Patna slum kids rally demanding better educational facilities
Patna, Nov 23 (ANI): Over hundred slum kids took out a rally here today demanding better educational facilities in the state.
The children took out the rally up to the residence of the state Governor, Debananda Konwar to present their demands.
"There is lack of basic amenities. If kids go to schools, there are no textbooks, toilets are there but they are locked, there are no playgrounds, no teachers. To put forth all these problems, these kids are going to meet the governor," said Akhil Chander Mishra, Organiser.
"We are taking out this rally because there is lack of educational facilities in our school," said Aditya Kumar, a student.
Bihar is considered one of the least developed and poor states in India.
The present government has launched several schemes and projects to spread education to the rural areas as well in an attempt to make education available to all.
But, problems of scarcity of books, teachers all prove a major hindrance in realising these goals. (ANI)
