INFOSIS sponsors library in Delhi Karnataka Sangha

New Delhi, August 25 (ANI): Former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka M.P. Prakash inaugurated the Infosis sponsored library at Delhi Karnataka Sangha on Sunday.

Four books were released on the occasion by the noted Kannada author Dr. Baragooru Ramachandrappa. An exhibition of paintings was inaugurated by K. S. Sachidananda Murthy, Resident Editor, 'The Week' Magazine

Speaking on the occasion, M.P. Prakash said that the authors have the responsibility to promote morality in the society. He was confident that Kannadigas in New Delhi would be benefited by the new library at Delhi Karnataka Sangha. Noted author Ramachandrappa said the writers needed healthy criticism as it will give encouragement to the young writers. The books released at the function included a collection of poems by renowned poet and dramatist H.S. Shivaprakash (Mabbina haage Kaniveyase), Balakrishna Naik (Belakina Paada) and Renuka Nidagundi (Kanna Kanive) and a collection of essays by Y. Avanindranath Rao (Samaya Sandarbha).

In his welcome speech President of Sangha Dr. Purushothama Bilimale acknowledged the help rendered by Sudhamurthy of Infosis Foundation, Bangalore.

B.S. Krishnaprasad, who has been appointed as a member of the Karnataka Public Service Commission was also facilitated during the function. Speaking on the occasion, he complimented Dr Bilimale for promoting the Delhi Karnataka Sangha as a centre for cultural and academic activities.

The function included a cultural programme U. K. 'Praveen' from Mangalore presented a dance drama 'Bhasmasura Mohini', which was highly appreciated by the audience. The dance drama was performed by young children of Nritya Vidyanilaya, the institution founded over seventy years ago by the noted dancer U.S. Krishna Rao, father of Praveen.

The evening concluded with a surprise Yakshagana puppet show by Uppina Kudru Bhaskara Kamath. Later the team displayed the puppets to the audience, and showed how the puppets 'performed'. y Avanindranath Rao (ANI)
