Melbourne, Aug 25 (ANI): Australian swimmer and Olympic gold medallist Stephanie Rice has signed up with Channel 7 for its modelling quest 'Make Me a Supermodel'.
Rice will be advising contestants on the show, which began shooting in Sydney over the weekend, on how to handle a sudden rise to fame, and also how to appeal to the general public.
Her part for the show will be taped almost as soon as she touches down from Beijing where she has caused a storm of interest both in and out of the pool.
The triple-gold medallist made headlines in the US last week when she was alleged to have shared a kiss with Michael Phelps, and despite neither of them having confirmed the hook-up, the news is still buzzing around.
The one person who is happily praising her is Channel 7 boss David Leckie.
"Stephanie was hot property ahead of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad. She then backed up the widespread attention with three world-record-breaking swims and three gold medals," News.com.au quoted Leckie as saying in a statement made on August 24.
"With her unbelievable ability and wonderful smile, Stephanie has captured the hearts of all Australians during her fantastic Olympic campaign.
"She returns to Australia a sporting hero, and deservedly so.
"We are thrilled she has decided to sign with Channel 7," he added. (ANI)
