Melbourne, Nov 17 (ANI): Canadian singer Michael Buble has come to pop princess Britney Spears' defence as the controversy surrounding her Australian tour grows.

Buble, 34, who is in Australia to promote his No. 1 album Crazy Love and to appear on Australian Idol, said the Aussie reaction to 27-year-old Spears' mimed concerts had made headlines around the world.

"You'd think she killed someone," News.com.au quoted him as saying.

"As an artist, and a human being, some of what has been written about her is so nasty. OK, she lip-synchs her show, people know that, they make the decision if they want to go and see her do that.

"Mind you, I lip-synch all my concerts, I'm the Milli Vanilli of jazz," he added. (ANI)
