Rural electrification programme brings a new dawn on Jharkhand villagers
Hussainabad (Jharkhand), Nov 17 (ANI): The rural electrification programme initiated by the Central Government has brought a new dawn on villagers of Hussainabad block of Jharkhand's Palamau district.
The electrification programme under the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Programme, a flagship programme to electrify villages, has lighted up not only the homes but also the hopes of the villagers.
"I have spent my life in darkness but my children and grand children will not suffer like me, now they can study," Sita Yadav, a villager.
The biggest benefit of the programme has been to farming. The farmers can now use power-operated water pumps to irrigate their lands during dry summers.
"I took initiative to set up this power grid here and now the villagers are receiving electricity 22 hours in a day," said Kamlesh Singh, legislator, Hussainabad constituency.
