No clean chit to Rahul Bhatt: Home Secretary
New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): Union Home Secretary G K Pillai said on Sunday that no clean chit has been given to anyone including Rahul Bhatt in David Headley terror plot probe.
Rahul son of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, is under scanner and is heading for intense interrogation by th eNational Investigation Agency (NIA) due to his alleged links' with Headley.
Headley, a Lashkar operative, was in Mumbai for five days prior to the attacks on 26/11.
As the investigations progress, the NIA suspect that Headley as well as his Pakistan-based Lashkar operatives may have seen the former's familiarity with Rahul as important for their terror plans in India.
According to the investigating agencies, Headley had met Rahul during his visit to Mumbai. His name also cropped up in several email conversations with co-accused Tahawwur Rana.
As part of efforts to trace the movements of David Headley, on Saturday police had interrogated a common friend of Headley and Rahul.
According to th eMumbai Police, Rahul came into contact with Headley through Vilas who worked at Moksha gym in Breach Candy area in south Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Bhatt confirmed that Vilas played a mediator's role between Rahul and Headley, but Bhatt dismissed the possibility of his son's involvement in any terror activities. (ANI)
