Fresh summons for Madhu Koda, remand for Sinha
Ranchi (Jharkhand), Nov 8 (ANI): The Enforcement Directorate today served fresh summons on former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, asking him to appear for questioning in New Delhi on November 11.
The condition of Koda, who is convalescing in a hospital in Ranchi is stable. Hospital sources said they have informed the authorities about the possibility of Koda being discharged today.
Koda, who is facing corruption and money laundering charges, is likely to be discharged from the hospital today. The hospital authorities said that Koda's condition is stable and it is ready to discharge him.
The Income Tax department and Enforcement Directorate had asked the hospital authorities to inform them before they release Koda.
The former chief minister was admitted to the hospital on November 3 after he complained of a stomach ache. He and several of his associates are facing charges of money laundering and illegal investments to the tune of over 2000 crore rupees.
Meanwhile, a Ranchi court has remanded Vikash Sinha, an associate of Koda, to ten days' custody of Enforcement Directorate.
Sinha, who was remanded to a day's judicial custody earlier, will be taken to the Enforcement Directorate's headquarters in New Delhi for further interrogation. (ANI)
