IAF air show leaves Raipur spellbound
Raipur, Nov. 8 (ANI): An air-show by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday left Raipur residents spellbound, as they celebrated 'Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav-2009', the ninth year of the state's formation.
During the two-day gala air show, Surya Kiran, the IAF's aerobatic team, demonstrated breathtaking air stunts over the Vivekananda pond which is located in the heart of the city.
"For the first time an event like this is being held in Raipur. Everyone, from youngsters to the elderly, enjoyed the air show. I would like to congratulate our fighter pilots who put up a fabulous show which was beyond our imagination," said Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh.
"A lot of interesting formations were taking place. The aeroplanes flew in a heart-shaped formation, then there were triangular formations. Whenever such an air show is held next time in Raipur, we will come to witness it again," added Seema, a local.
Every year, the IAF holds many air shows and exhibitions across the country on different occasions to exhibit their aerobatic skills and to create awareness among the people about the defence services.
