Now, a Royal Mint medal to commemorate Sir Bobby Robson
London, Nov 5(ANI): In recognition of his services to English football, the Royal Mint in the UK will issue a special medal in the name of former football manager Sir Bobby Robson.
The Royal Mint said the honour is normally reserved for members of the Royal Family, but has been extended to Sir Bobby, who died of cancer in July.

A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the medal will be donated to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, it added.
It also hopes that the medal will afford a fitting tribute not just for those who wish to remember the career of Sir Bobby, but also for those who were inspired by his enduring charisma and grace.
The face of the medal features a portrait of Sir Bobby Robson and the reverse features the clubs Sir Bobby managed or played for.
"Our family was overwhelmed by the kind words from all over the world at the passing of my husband. Bobby's thirst for life was unquenchable and I'm sure he would be delighted to know that his foundation will benefit as a result of sales of this beautiful medal," The Daily express quoted Lady Robson, Sir Bobby's widow, as saying.
Sir Bobby's professional playing career as an inside-forward spanned nearly 20 years, during which he played for three clubs: Fulham, West Bromwich Albion, and, briefly, Vancouver. He also made 20 appearances for England, scoring four goals.
He died of lung cancer at his home in County Durham on 31 July, aged 76. (ANI)
