Oz pacer Bollinger confident of scaling new heights

Mohali/Hyderabad, Nov.4 (ANI): Australian left-arm fast bowler Doug Bollinger says that after his three wicket haul in the fourth one-day international against India in Mohali, Chandigarh, he is confident about scaling new heights in international cricket.

A solid Champions League Twenty20 campaign for NSW was not enough to get the left-armer picked for the opening two matches against India, but his subsequent bowling efforts in games three and four have seemingly made him a certain starter for the remainder of the seven-match series, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

While it would have been easy for Bollinger, in just his fifth one-day international, to lose faith after bowling so well in Delhi but going unrewarded, the 28-year-old said his confidence was high after that match.

"I spoke to [coach] Tim Nielsen after the game and just said to him I could have bowled worse and then got three-for, so that's just the nature of the beast. It's why we love and hate the game, isn't it? I'm really happy with the way I bowled in Delhi."

Bollinger's success in the past two one-day internationals has come within a fortnight of him being part of NSW's world-champion team.

As a result, the knockabout pacer agrees his international stocks have probably never been higher.

"The Champions League was a great stepping stone to this tournament because I'd bowled a bit over in Delhi and Hyderabad. I'm fit and well at the moment and I think I'm starting to climb a bit higher with my confidence in international cricket, and just in cricket in general," he said. (ANI)
