Mumbai, Aug. 22 (ANI): Bollywood's epic film Mughal-e-Azam of the 1960s appears to be still holding its charm among the present-day filmmakers. And, this time it has inspired a comic film Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam.

Directed by Sanjay Chel, Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam has star casts like Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat in lead roles. Both the actors have worked together in the past and given hits like Pyar Ke Side Effects, a romantic comedy.

Paresh Rawal is playing the famed character of Emperor Akbar in the film.

Director Sanjay Chel expressed mixed reactions on the release of the film with a hope that it will receive lots of appreciation from the audience.

"I am very nervous, very happy, very excited and I request the people of India that I have tried a different type of comedy, I have done an experiment so accept it with open hands and give it respect of good comedy. Because it's really a different type of comedy, and it's a different type of film. Every director talks about his film like this but I...the audience will say the same after watching the film," said Sanjay Chel, director, Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam.

Reply to a query about the main reason behind choosing the title Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam, Sanjay noted, "The reason of choosing the title Mughal-e-Azam was that the theatre group of the film performs a drama titled Mughal-e-Azam and this theatre group accomplishes such a mission, watching which the people says Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam."

The movie promises to be one of the most awaited comedy movies of 2008, which is hoped to be packed with rib-tickling ingredients.

Music director Anu Malik has composed the music for the film.

David Dhawan, who is well-known for giving hit comedy-based movies, was all praise for the talented director for his work.

"Sanjay is a very talented boy. He's written Partner for us, he wrote the dialogues for the film and they were highly appreciated. He'll definitely make a good film that's why I came to see it. I am looking forward to see Paresh Rawal's acting. The promos are very good. It's a very fresh, very nice looking film. I like the title also Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam, it attracts the audience," said David Dhawan, the director.

"It's a different film. Risk is also there in the sense that in my career I am not such a big personality, whom hits and flops can affect. I believe I am very small past of the industry and the most important thing is that when I see myself I shouldn't feel I could have done better," said Rahul Bose, actor, Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam.

The movie is a rib tickling, contemporary comedy. The story revolves around a drama troupe - Kalakar Natak Company that aims to produce socially relevant, thought provoking plays, but the irony is that nobody understands it! By Sharik (ANI)
