All political powers taken on board over NRO : Musharraf
Lahore, Oct.25 (ANI): Notwithstanding the massive discontent he had to face over his dubious decision of promulgation of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said that all political parties were taken on board by him before taking that action.
Musharraf told a private television channel that the basic purpose of the ordinance was to eliminate cases against politicians.
Meanwhile, in a separate television interview, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said approving the NRO was one the biggest mistakes of his life for which he wants to seek apology from the nation.
"The ordinance was promulgated to create an environment of reconciliation in the country," The Daily Times quoted Hussain, as saying. (ANI)
