Gazza put on suicide watch again, knows he can't get his wife back

London, Aug. 22 (ANI): Former England footballer Paul Gascoigne is on suicide watch again and knows he's wrecked his chances of getting back with his estranged wife Sheryl.

The alcoholic ex-England star's family say he slumped into despair after realizing he has wrecked the romance he tried to rekindle with Sheryl, 42.

She comforted him during a 100,000-pound two-month stint in rehab and invited him to move back in with her. They even talked about renewing their wedding vows.

According to The Sun, Gazza, 41, stormed out of her house after accusing her of trying to control him during a blazing row.

He then jetted off with old pals Iron Maiden on their European tour - and tumbled off the wagon.

Last night he was holed up in France with his worried dad John, 62, who is staying with him round-the-clock.

"It's a serious situation. His dad has gone out there because everyone is so worried about his mental state. The feeling is he cannot be left on his own,'' a friend said. (ANI)
