Haflong (Assam), Oct 17(ANI): Two young Jeme Naga musicians from Assam have brought out a music album, which endeavors to promote national integration, peace, development and unity.

Twenty-three-year old Ache and 26-year-old Agui, belonging to Haflong in the state have named their album "Chu Du Lau", which includes songs on religious themes, folk traditions and patriotism.

One song in their album also pays tribute to 'Rani Maa', a Jeme freedom fighter and also highlights their religion 'Harake'.

"Our aim of making this album is to make people aware of the needs of peace and love amongst themselves. We are trying to make people believe in unity and not to pursue individualism. People will find this message in the album. They will realize it after listening to the music," Agui said.

Ache highlighted that their songs were based on different religions, and said: "Religious songs are part of the album. We have not only sung Harake songs, but have included songs based on other religions like Christianity."

Numerous Indian musical instruments like harmonium and tabla have been used in the album, which has been produced under the banner of "Zeliangrong heraka music committee".

"Normally, in Naga music, we don't used tabla and harmonium. So, the whole team decided to work on something new and thus we thought of including these ingredients in our album," said Mukul Doloi, music composer.

Inclusion of Indian musical instruments in the Naga music reflects a sense of national integration and a harmonious co-existence. By Peter Todd Alex (ANI)
