Malay eatery to host "Banana Leaf Food Fest" in UK in conjunction with Deepavali
Kuala Lumpur, October 14 (ANI): A Malaysian restaurant in London will host a "Banana Leaf Food Festival" in conjunction with Hindu festival Deepavali.
The Awana Restaurant at 85 Sloane Avenue will organize the revelry till October 21 to promote Malaysian cuisine, in line with the 1Malaysia concept.
"Although Awana Restaurant has been serving halal Malaysian cuisine since it started operations in 2005, the festival is being held to bring Malaysian food closer to the residents and tourists here," New Straits Times Online quoted restaurant owner Eddie Lim as saying.
He added that the 1Malaysia concept would be emphasized through the unity shown by customers at the restaurant.
The restaurant will also serve Indian dishes on banana leaves, during the festival. (ANI)
