Patna, Oct 13 (ANI): Two arms peddlers, suspected of supplying weapons to Maoists, were arrested in Patna.
Acting on a tip off a police team laid a trap in Patna and intercepted a van and recovered a huge cache of ammunition.
The police arrested two peddlers identified as Montu Sharma and Dhananjay Kumar, both residents of state's Aurangabad district.
"On checking the car we recovered 2,340 rounds of live cartridges, out of which 1,660 rounds of live cartridges were of 315 bore, 480 rounds of live cartridges were of .32 bore and 200 rounds cartridges were of 9 mm bore," said Vinit Vinayak, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Patna.
"Montu Sharma on interrogation told the police that ammunition was to be supplied to criminals and the Maoists. The ammunition was bought in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana and was to be delivered to Munger, Aurangabad, Gaya and Jehanabad districts," Vinayak added. (ANI)
