Melbourne, Oct 9 (ANI): Passengers who have poor personal hygiene are the most disliked flyers, according to a new survey.

ccording to US travel company Travelocity's 2009 Rudeness Poll, which surveyed 1600 passengers on their pet peeves, the annoyances varied between the time of boarding the plane, during the flight and when departing, reports News.com.au.

In the study, 45 percent pointed to passengers with bad hygiene as the worst problem on board flights, while 80 percent thought overweight passengers should have to buy two plane seats.

When boarding those surveyed were most annoyed by passengers who wrested with larger than allowed carry-on luggage. This was followed by people who crowded the boarding line, blocked the isle, stored their luggage carelessly or used overhead bins for small items, the study revealed.

When it came to rude behaviour in-flight, kicking the seat and loud talking or swearing were voted the most irritating acts.

"Whether I'm enjoying dinner with friends or perusing comments made to blog posts online, the topic of rude travellers always seems to get people talking," Genevieve Shaw Brown, Travelocity senior editor, said.

"Whatever the offense, emotions and opinions seems to fly freely when this subject is brought up, so we decided to poll our customers to find the worst offenders," Genevieve added. (ANI)
