Corrie star Michelle Keegan reveals ordeal with fanatic fan

London, Oct 5 (ANI): Brit actress Michelle Keegan has revealed the harrowing time she had when a crazed fan insisted that she marry him.

Keegan, 22, who stars in Coronation Street, told how the stalker sent her a diamond engagement ring and a wedding band worth thousands of pounds.

And, in a chilling letter, he insisted she wear the rings while she filmed the ITV1 soap, declaring: "Everyone will know you are not available."

"It was so weird. He said, 'The only thing I can do is ask for your hand in marriage'. I couldn't believe he sent the rings - and real ones at that! They were worth a lot of money," the News of the World quoted her as saying.

"It was freaky but I didn't get too terrified because we have really good security. And my dad is a retired police officer so if he thought I was in danger he would get involved," she said.

The rings were returned to the deluded fan, from Leeds, who had given his name and address.

"I was just glad the man hadn't come along with them," Keegan added. (ANI)
