Islamabad, Oct.3 (ANI): The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has vowed to carry out large-scale suicide attacks across Pakistan in revenge for the death of Baitullah Mehsud.

According to intelligence sources, top TTP leaders held a meeting in Mir Ali recently and decided to carry out retaliatory terror strikes across the country.

"The militants are distributed and frustrated after the release of a video showing the dead body of their supreme commander Baitullah Mehsud," The Dawn quoted sources, as saying.

Intelligence agencies have warned the Interior Ministry about a rise in militant activities in different parts of the country, following which the government has asked concerned authorities in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP), Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh to beef up security.

Mehsud was killed in a missile attack on August 5. One of Pakistan's most wanted and dreaded terrorist, he had five million dollar bounty on his head. It is also believed that he plotted former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's assassination in December 2007. (ANI)
