Washington, Sept 28 (ANI): American rapper 50 Cent invited cops to "join the party" when security was beefed up for his gig at his old New York neighbourhood last week.Police kept vigil over the entire area as thousands of fans poured into a school playground in Jamaica, Queens, for a community festival that had 50 Cent's show as its frontal act.

"I ain't never seen this before. That's the motherf**king police. You might as well come down and party with us, because we're not going to be doing anything else. I'm just going to enjoy myself," Contactmusic quoted the 33-year-old rapper as yelling from the stage.

"I'm back in my neighbourhood, it feels good. I'm full of positive energy."I want to make sure everyone has a good time and gets home safe," he said.

The festival was earlier scheduled for August this year, but was cancelled due to security concerns. (ANI)
