BJP observes 'black day' in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Aug 19 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the main opposition party in Jharkhand, observed Tuesday as a 'black day' to protest against Governor Syed Sibtey Razi's decision to Chief Minister Madhu Koda time till August 25 to prove his majority.

 

Scores of BJP activists in Ranchi shouted slogans and accused the Governor of not following the Constitution and acting at the behest of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the centre.

 

Political uncertainty looms over the state as Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) withdrew support from the 23-month old Madhu Koda Government on Sunday, it into a minority.

 

JMM supremo Shibu Soren, who handed over the letter of withdrawal of support to the Governor, is aspiring to be the Chief Minister of the state. (ANI)
