Noida, Aug 19 (ANI): Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan, Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh and others were stopped on Tuesday when they tried to enter Greater Noida, where four persons were killed in police firing on August 13.

While the Lok Sabha member and the Union Minister's younger brother Ramchandra Paswan was taken into custody by the Uttar Pradesh Police, Paswan and Amar Singh were halted at the Delhi-UP border itself.

Police requested the leaders not to proceed when they were going towards Greater Noida to disburse Rs. two lakh as relief to the families of the victims of police firing during the farmers' agitation.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati is following the same policies of West Bengal Government in land acquisition and we will launch a protest in Singur too, Amar Singh told reporters.

Four persons were killed and 50 others, including 15 policemen injured when farmers, demanding revision of compensation for the land acquired by the State Government, staged violent protests last week. (ANI)
