Beijing, Aug 19 (ANI): India's Anju Bobby George today failed to qualify for the women's long jump event in the Beijing Olympics.

Anju, the bronze medalist at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris, bowed out of the Games in a disastrous manner, as all three of her jumps in the qualifying heats were declared fouls.

Since winning the silver in the World athletics final in Monaco, Anju has not won even one major medal.

From a high of 6.83 meter in the Athens Olympics, she came down to 6.75 in Monaco and since then had 6.54 and 6.65 as her best for 2006 and 2007. She is ranked 16th in the world. (ANI)
