Washington, Sept 15 (ANI): R 'n' B singer Whitney Houston gave up on her dream to open up a fruit drinks stall on an island beach, in order to return to the world of music.
"Yep, a fruit stand and selling some fruit drinks to some people... Me and my daughter living on an island with a beach... living the simple life," Contactmusic quoted Houston as having told Oprah Winfrey.
"You've gotta understand I had been all around the the world... and I had done it all at that point in time.
"However, I wasn't remembering the gift that God had given me. I had totally kinda put that aside.
"At that time in my life I was going through so much trauma... I thought that was enough for me. I had the money, I had the cars, I had the house, I had the husband, I had the kid and none of it was really that fulfilling... I needed my joy back, I needed that peace," Houston added.
The 46-year-old star revealed she was cajoled by her mentor Clive Davis to record another album after she spent years struggling with drugs.
Houston said: "He said, 'No, there's more to go.'" (ANI)
