D P Agrawal takes over as Chairman of UPSC
New Delhi, August 16 (ANI): Prof. D.P. Agrawal took the oath of office and secrecy as Chairman, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) here today.
The oath was administered by outgoing Chairman of the Commission Subir Dutta.
Prof. Agrawal joined the Commission as Member in October, 2003. Prior to joining UPSC, Prof. Agrawal has served in the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in various capacities from October, 1975 to July, 1994.
Thereafter, from July, 1994 to October, 1998 he was Joint Educational Adviser in the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
Later on, from October, 1998 to October, 2003, Prof. Agrawal was the Founder Director of the ABV- Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, a first initiative of Government of India.
Prof. Agrawal has to his credit almost 30 years experience in the area of Teaching and Research (Engineering, Management and Information Technology), educational administration, and institutional planning and management. (ANI)
