Oct 22:Dutt may head towards jail, if gets copy of the judgement

Time waits for none, and without any mercy it has knocked Sanjay Dutt patience once more.

Sanjay Dutt and 15 other convicts in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts cases were waiting to receive the copies of judgement. The 13 others on interim bail including 10 who have given death sentence and three who were awarded life-term received their judgement copies on Saturday evening.

Dutt but had to wait another couple of days as the court had not prepared his copies till Saturday. So he will present himself before the designated TADA court judge P D Kode on Monday.

In fact the TADA court had to give the judgement copy on Saturday but the court due to technicalities and usual process extended it to Monday. As soon as Dutt receives the copies he would have to surrender immediately.

The decree of the verdict was completed this July but the detailed copy of the written judgement is still awaited.

Sanjay Dutt, an accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case for illegal possession of weapons, may soon find himself in jail again when the TADA judge P D Kode hands over copies of full judgment of the case to him.

Sanjay Dutt’s counsel is considering appealing to the Supreme Court to grant him interim bail on plea against judgement.

Sanjay Dutt who has revived Gandhism through Gandhigiri is facing charges for acquiring AK-47 from terrorist prior to 1993 Mumbai bomb blast. He was sentenced a 6-year jail term on July 31, 2007 but was granted interim bail on August 20 this year after spending a few weeks in Pune's Yeravada jail.

Earlier a special TADA court found him guilty under the Arms Act for possessing illegal weapon. However, the Judge P.D Kode cleared him of the charges of terrorism and conspiracy.

In the 1993 Mumbai blast case the Special TADA Court granted 12 to death, 20 to life-term and many others to varied jail terms and fines after finding a total of 100 persons guilty for the incident.
