Britney's dad credits her breakdown for rebuilding their relationship

Washington, Aug 14 (ANI): Pop princess Britney Spears' father Jamie has revealed that he is glad that his daughter suffered a breakdown, as it opened a way for them to rebuild their relationship.

After the singer parted ways with her ex-husband Kevin Federline in 2006, she went through a total meltdown, resulting in her losing custody of her children.

The strain she underwent landed her in rehab, and soon after it led to a standoff with police, which resulted in her being hospitalised for a mental health order.

Seeing no change in her erratic behaviour, her father Jamie was granted conservatorship of her estate in January (08), allowing him control of all her legal and business affairs.

Jamie is convinced that his daughter's breakdown has had a positive outcome, as she is now much closer to her parents.

"God has a way of taking something bad and turning it into something good," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

"If this hadn't happened, I would never have been able to get back with my daughter and have this relationship I have with these two little boys," he added. (ANI)
