Now, Joe the Plumber turns Joe the Comedian!

Washington, Fri, 14 Aug 2009 ANI

Washington, Aug.14 (ANI): Joe Wurzelbacher has worn many hats, including that of a plumber, political activist, musician, commentator, author.

Now, he is set to become a comedian.

According to Politico, Wurzelbacher has signed on as one of the stand-up comedians performing at September's "Funniest Celebrity in Washington" contest.

The competition, now in its 16th year, is an annual gathering of politicos - funny and not so funny - awkwardly attempting comedy.

Last year, former Governor Mike Huckabee took home top honors.

Wurzelbacher will join such fellow conservatives as American for Tax Reform's Grover Norquist and the Washington Times' Richard Miniter.

Talking Points Memo's Matt Cooper will perform, and Sen. Ben Nelson will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for "bringing good humor to Congress." ABC News's Sam Donaldson will throw out the first joke. (ANI)
