Srinagar, August 14 (ANI): One person was killed and another four were injured here today, when security forces opened fire to quell protesters attempting to storm a police station in Srinagar amidst fresh eruption of violence.
According to official sources, the security forces opened fire when stone-pelting protesters attacked a police station in Safakadal area of Srinagar.
They were protesting against alleged high-handedness of the security forces in their dealings over the Amarnath issue.
However, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) spokesman denied the charges that the force was crossing the limits of policing.
