Cops spot "Vampire Dog" in Texas

Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

London, August 14 (ANI): Policemen from a city in Texas, US, have claimed to have caught on film a mystery creature believed to be the legendary "Vampire Dog".

According to a report in The Sun, two cops - Sheriff Brandon Riedel and officer Ellie Carter, chased the beast after spotting its strange elongated nose and fangs.

Saying they have never seen an animal like it, the policemen are convinced it was El Chupacabra, a "vampire dog" that feasts on goats' blood.

The animal has been a popular Latino legend since the mid-1990s and is regarded in a similar way to Bigfoot in the US.

"We were checking fences when this thing just jumped out at us," said Ellie, after the encounter in Cuero, Texas. "I shouted, 'It's a chupacabra'," she added.

"I recognised it instantly from TV," said Ellie. "It had big teeth, a big head, short legs in front and long legs in back," she added. Last year, a mystery beast thought to be a chupacabra was found dead near a Cuero farm after apparently sucking the blood of hundreds of chickens and goats.

Tests on the mystery creature's corpse proved inconclusive, but many scientists believe the Texas chupacabras are a hybrid created after coyotes bred with Mexican grey wolves. (ANI)
