Oct 11: Turkey has reacted strongly today after the US House of Representatives approved a resolution that labels the 1915 massacres of Armenians by Ottoman Turks as genocide.

Turkish president Abdullah Gul denounced the resolution saying, “This unacceptable decision of the committee... has no validity and respectability for the Turkish people. Unfortunately, some politicians in the United States ignored appeals for common sense and once again moved to sacrifice big issues to petty games of domestic politics".

The House of Representatives of Foreign Affairs passed the bill on Wednesday. The bill said that the massacring of 1.5 million Armenians was “GENOCIDE”.

The bill is now to be sent to the House of Representatives for full vote.

US President George Bush said that the resolution would do great harm to its ties with Turkey, a key US ally in the war on terror.

Condoleezza Rice , US secretary of state and Robert Gates US defense secretary denounced the move. US secretary of state said that though she sympathized with the Armenian’s fate, "but the passage of this resolution at this time would, indeed, be very problematic for everything that we're trying to do in the Middle East because we are very dependent on a good Turkish strategic ally for this".

President Bush said, "This resolution isn't the right response to these historic mass killings; its passage would do great harm to our relations with a key ally in NATO and in the global war on terror".

Turkey is threatening to go for an invading northern Iraq to wash out Kurdish rebels even as the U.S advises it to exercise restraint.

Till today Turkey has denied the killing of 1.5 million Armenian as genocide. Adolf Hitler after coming to power in Germany decided to conquer Poland and told his generals "Thus for the time being I have sent to the East only my 'Death's Head Units' with the orders to kill without pity or mercy all men, women, and children of Polish race or language. Only in such a way will we win the vital space that we need. Who still talks nowadays about the Armenians?"

The Armenian Genocide, occurred when millions of Armenians living in Turkey were eliminated from their historic homeland through forced deportations and massacres.

The homeland of Turkey fell in the way to expand Turkey to make it great land with one language and religion. The Young Turks guarded the power in turkey and there was a dramatic rise in Islamic Fundamentalism. During World War I, the Young Turks sided with Germany, Austria and Hungary.

Turks then disarmed Armenian on the pretext that they being a Christian Community will be sympathetic towards Russia. The armed roundups began and they started killing the prominent faces of Armenians. The mass arrest of Armenians throughout the country began followed by their massacre.

The whole Armenia became a land of death bodies with corpses lying everywhere.

It is one of the second largest massacres of single community in World history. This event was condemned throughout the world; many sources termed this massacre as systematic, organised plan to eliminate Armenians. Till today 22 countries has recognised the massacre as genocide.
