Oct 10: Though Himesh Reshmiya, music director, singer and an actor is not a controversial personality but at the same time he is hardly able to keep himself away from it. Playback singer of Bollywood sometimes hits headlines of the newspaper due to the confrontation with Asha Bhonsle over his comment on the voice of R D Burman or sometimes due to his confrontation with Salman Khan in a T. V programme. Sometimes he finds space in the paper due to the criticism of his nasal voice or sometimes because of his daring attempt to play as a hero in his film.

But this time the reason for coming into light is totally different from all the previous ones. His house has been raided by the income tax officials for tax-evasion. He has come under the scanner of income tax department for allegedly paying less tax.

Tax officials entered his house in Mumbai around at 11:00 am to verify the total tax due on him and lasted the survey for hours.

Himesh has denied that it was raid by the income tax department. He said that visit of income tax officials at his home was just a part of the survey exercise and very much a part of the routine exercise of the department.

This is to be known that Himesh has rocked the country with his songs without caring for the criticism of his nasal voice. His film in which he acted as a hero also has been a great hit.

Initially he was recognised for his music in the movie ‘Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya’ in 1998 and gave many successful movies in association with Salman Khan as far as the music was concerned.

He has bagged IIFA best male playback singer award in 2006 for his movie ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ along with the film fare best male playback singer award in the same year for the same film.
