Oct 09 : Last Month a young Graphic Designer from Kolkata was found lying dead near a railway track, with his head smashed. The condition in which he was found was yelling a foul play. Few Days before his death he has complained of threat to his life but no one heard.

His death created a massive protest in Kolkata and the police who earlier have claimed that Rizwanur had lost his life in a suicidal bid are now under the scan of Human Rights Commission.

Human Rights Commission of West Bengal is taking Rizwanur’s unnatural death seriously. B. Mahapatra, Secretary, Human Rights Commission said ''Reports which have appeared in the press and the statement that the Police Commissioner has given us don't tally, which is why we have asked TV channels to give us video recordings of the press conference for assistance. It is a very sensitive matter''.

Prasun Mukherjee, Police Commissioner of Kolkata gave a press conference in which he said that Rizwanur case was a suicidal attempt.

He submitted the report on October 1 st before the commission but the commission was not satisfied with the report.

Human Rights Commission might announce an interim order on Friday while the Judicial Commission by state will begin its hearing from November 1st. From October 11-31 it will accept the application of people who want to testify before the commission.

Jyoti Basu, CPI (M) leader has criticised the police commissioner role, he said ''I have never heard anything like what the Police Commissioner said. Police Commissioners have been removed for other reasons in the past, but something like this is painful. We don't know how Rizwanur died, whether he was murdered or he committed suicide. The Chief Minister has said he will not spare anybody who is named in the case''.

Basu also complaint against delay of action against Assistant Commissioner Sukanti Chakravorty and Sub-Inspector Krishendu reporters at his Indira Bhavan residence on Monday, “The chief minister had told me these men would be removed. But I hear the government has still not issued any order. I have to find out what is happening about those two.”

Earlier Basu created ripples when he announced that the two officers are suspended. But the statement was denied by the state home secretary.

Home Secretary P.R Roy said that if CID will find anything against Ashok Todi, he will be arrested. And if necessary they will summon Prasun Joshi.

Trouble began for Rizwanur, after he got married to Priyanka Todi, daughter of Industrialist Ashok Todi under Special Marriage Act. Before his death, he started getting threats calls for which he complaint to the police and also wrote a letter to Human Rights Commission.

If the top police Officer will be found guilty then this case will again register a question mark that where to go in the time of need and despair and that money and power can buy anything even one’s right to live.
