UPA Govt. says 81 attacks on Indians in Australia since May 23
New Delhi, July 2 (ANI): The UPA Government today informed the Rajya Sabha that a total of 81 confirmed cases of attacks on Indians, including students, in Australia have been reported since May 23.
To check attacks on Indians and ensure their safety the Australian Government has informed India that it was taking a series of steps, said Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vyalar Ravi.

"The total number of confirmed cases of attacks on Indians, including students, since May 23 is 81," he said.
Vyalar Ravi said the matter has been taken up with the Kevin Rudd Government at the highest level.
"It has been conveyed to them that such attacks should not be allowed to happen and that it is the responsibility of the police authorities in particular to ensure the well-being and security of our students in Australia," the Overseas Indian Affairs Minister said. (ANI)
