Oct 08: Australia is going under Bollywoodmania as the largest foreign film festival in Australia is going to be inaugurated from October 17 in Melbourne and Sydney together.

The fifth Australian-Indian Film Festival, AIFF will commence with Feroze Khan's Gandhi my Father. This film is also one of the five nominated in the Best Screenplay category for the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) to be held on the Gold Coast in November.
This is the largest foreign film festival in Australia screening over 20 Bollywood movies and hosting 12 prominent guests from glamour world including hottest Bollywood stars, moviemakers and fashion designers that will represent Indian glamour and arts in abroad. As much as 40,000 viewers will be expected to watch the show. The organisers are expecting to attract almost 40,000 viewers in this carnival that will go on till October 27.
Celebrating the best of Bollywood and Indian Cinema, the MG Distribution with assistance from Bollywood director producer Yash Chopra had taken the initiative to present Indian movies in front of mainstream Australian audience and the festival emerged as a successful one in its past effort.
The 10-days long grand gala festival has been named as ‘Bollywood in Australia’ that will also showcase a selection of four successful Hindi films that were shot in Australia and had hired Australian crew, dancers and actors. These are Dil Chahta Hai, Chak de India, Salaam Namaste and Heyy babby. Besides these, two unreleased movies would also be shown the viewers in Sydney and Melbourne cinema houses. These are John Abraham and Arshad Warsi starrer Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal and Pradeep Sarkar’s magnum creation Laaga Chunari Mein Daag.
Bollywood star Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor and director Feroze Khan are the special guest of the festival, who will also participate in the ‘Question-and-Answer’ session in both the place, Sydney and Melbourne. Besides them, Shimit Amin, Sagarika Ghatge, Chitrashi Rawat, Arbaaz Khan, John Abraham, Simi Garewal, Siddharth Anand, will also boost the charm of the festival as being the guest.
An awards ceremony announcement for the Best Film and Best Performance will be held for the first time at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney on the concluding day of the function. Later this festival will also go beyond to Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in the coming months.
