Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner 'to remake '2000 Year Old Man'
New York, June 29 (ANI): Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner have joined forces to recreate the '2000 Year Old Man' on HBO.
In the '2000 Year Old Man', Brooks played the oldest man in the world, interviewed by Reiner in a series of comedy routines that appeared on television as well as being made into a collection of records.
First created in 1961, the comedy routine has yielded five albums until now.
The recent one was 'The 2000 Year Old Man in the Year 2000', and served as the basis for Brooks' 1981 movie, 'History of the World, Part I'.
And now Reiner, now 87, and Brooks, who turned 83 yesterday, are planning to resurrect the show again on HBO.
"Now Carl and Mel want to take the act to HBO for a final farewell," the New York Post quoted a source close to the funnymen as saying. (ANI)
