Quit India anniversary: Youth Congress says fundamentalists want to break up nation (Lead)
New Delhi/Lucknow, August 9 (ANI): Activists of youth Congress on Saturday said that all efforts must be made to stop fundamentalists from breaking up the country.
Present on the occasion of the 66 th anniversary of the Quit India Movement, were Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and a host of youth Congress leaders.

A motorcycle rally was also organised on the occasion.
"Today is a very big occasion as August 9 is celebrated as Quit India Movement day. This movement was started to drive away English from India. Today there are certain religious forces who want to break this country on the name of caste and religion," said Anil Kumar, President Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress.
Similar rallies were organised in other parts of the country too.
In Lucknow Rameshwar Nath Mishra, a freedom fighter, said that freedom should not be taken for granted and every generation must make efforts to ensure it was not imperilled.
"The political leadership in this country is slave of money and whatever happened in the parliament in the name of confidence motion recently will put to shame any thinking intellectual person. We should overcome this mentality and introduce a clean political environment. Gandhi gave us our biggest tool of 'Satyagraha'. So to uplift society, we have to use it. Only if good people enter politics will this country improve," said Rameshwar Nath Mishra.
The Quit India Movement was flagged off on August 9, 1942 from Bombay's August Kranti Maidan.
A commemorative meeting is held here annually to mark the movement's anniversary. (ANI)
