Bosses banned from swearing at workplace

Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

Melbourne, Aug 9 (ANI): Bosses Down Under have been asked not to swear at their workers, according to the workplace watchdog.

The Ombudsman has put employers on notice, warning that swearing at employees will not be tolerated, especially when it comes to discussing employment arrangements.

"Employers need to mind their Ps and Qs when dealing with staff," News.com.au quoted Workplace Ombudsman executive director Michael Campbell, as saying.

"There are probably some workplaces where the f-word is commonly used but it has no place in negotiations between employers and employees about wages and conditions," he added.

However, employer groups have warned that a push by the Workplace Ombudsman to ban swearing from workplace negotiations is political correctness gone mad and shows they don't understand the real world. (ANI)
