Oct 05: A three member committee has been constituted in Uttar Pradesh which will be chaired by the chief secretary of the state P K Mishra to recommend the measures for transparent police recruitment.
At the same time the committee consisting of SGP Vikram Singh and divisional commissioner of Lucknow Vijay Shanker Pandey as other two members will also investigate the reasons and persons who made an effect on the earlier recruitments.
The committee not only evolve a policy of police recruitment but also examine the report of the earlier committee on police recruitment under the chairpersonship of MS. Renuka Kumar, secretary of the home department.
Meanwhile the committee headed by Shalja Kant Mishra which probed the wrong doing in the recruitment process of the police constables has been disbanded by the state cabinet chaired by the chief minister Mayawati.
The committee plunged into controversy when Shailja Mishra made statement that girl recruits have been sexually exploited. Mishra also made charges in the presence of principal home secretary yet the charges have not been included in the home department report which was kept before the cabinet.
Announcement of the committee was done by cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh on Thursday. Singh also denied any information about the letter written by S K Mishra in which he demanded the narco analysis test of some of the high officials of the police department saying that he does not have any knowledge of such a letter.
