Prince Harry 'to step up' fundraising visits to America

London, Mon, 22 Jun 2009 ANI

London, June 22 (ANI): Prince Harry will reportedly increase his fundraising visits across the Atlantic to support events organised by the newly established American leg of his charity Sentebale.

The 24-year-old, who credits his late mother Princess Diana for inspiring him to continue his work for AIDS victims, touched hearts during a celebrity fundraising dinner in New York last month.

And the royal is now said to be looking to step up his own activities in the US to boost his charity.

"Harry's polo match was a big success and raised a substantial six-figure sum. He is keen for the American Friends of Sentebale to build on that success," the Telegraph quoted a friend as saying.

Several A-listers attended Harry's polo match, including Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.

The pal added: "The trustees of the American Friends now have the technical means to hold their own fund-raising events and, of course, Harry will do his best to support them. He was delighted with his reception there." (ANI)
