CBI gives clean chit to Tytler: court questions
Oct 04: Some time ago CBI closed the case against Jagdish Tytler who was charge sheeted by the CBI in November 2005 after his name was included in the report of Nanawati Commission to probe 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
He was give clean chit by the CBI in this case saying that witness Jasbir Singh could not be examined as he is abroad. This CBI willingly or unwillingly did not try to trace the main witness in the case whose testimony could have changed the face of the case.
Another argument by the CBI was that they were handed over the case after 20 years of incident and so they could not find evidences and witnesses.
While in his testimony Jasbir Singh has given that he heard Tytler inciting Hindus to kill Sikhs as low number of murder of Sikhs in his constituency would lower his prestige before the central leadership.
As CBI closed the case, SGPC filed a complaint which questioned the credibility of the CBI’s move of closing the case. Sikhs were offended by the closure of the case and arranged mass protests against the act of CBI.
A special court has sent notices to the central investigation agency asking it to resume its investigations regarding the role of Tytler in 1984 anti sikh riots which followed the assassination of former prime minister Indira Gandhi.
Court said that CBI cannot clear Tytler of the charges until court hears the accounts of the victims.
Court fixed November 29 as the date for further hearing of the case.

Not sure how this guy sleeps tonight. He has blood of 5000 men, women and kids on his hands. People who were pulled out of their houses and killed in broad day light. This case will determine the future of India. If this case fails to punish the guilty, common people in India have a bleak future. All Indians, irrespective of religion, should stand up to ensure that this butcher and others are sent to gallows.
