Oct 04: As chief minister of Karnataka H D Kumarswamy has not given any indications of power transfer to BJP in Karnataka as per the power sharing pact reached 20 months ago, BJP ministers resigned after the expiry date of power hand over to BJP.

Now the battle ground has shifted to Delhi as BJP central parliamentary board has called the Karnataka BJP state leaders to attend the meeting. In the meeting the further course of action will be decided. After the tough posture adopted by JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda and his son, BJP is left with few options to explore.

BJP leadership has indicated that if Kumaraswamy does not respect the pact and does not vacate the chief minister post for their ally candidate YS Yediyurappa, it will withdraw the support from JD(S). It has no other option but face elections if JD(S) is not supported by congress. This time BJP seems helpless and has no choice but to wait till the meeting of political affairs committee is over in Delhi on Friday. In PAC meeting of JD(S) only the matter will be decided and future course of action will be delineated.

JD(S) hardly seems disturbed with the threat by BJP as it may look forward for support from outside again from congress that it ditched in January 06 to get support from BJP.

This time too situation is the same only the supporting parties are on the card of change.

On the other hand even congress is not ready to disclose its cards and is insistent on it ‘wait and watch’ approach. Congress has cleared that it will announce its course of action only after JD(S) gives a transparent picture of its relations with BJP. Though the state unit of congress is not willing to extend their support due to past experience but if congress high command wishes so they will not have any problem. The possibility of congress support to JD(S) cannot be ruled out.

Fate of the government will take another day to be decided as on Thursday BJP will decide its strategy to tackle this issue of power transfer and next day JD(S) meeting will reveal its approach to BJP.

Till now Kumaraswamy has put all the blame on BJP for the crisis in the state political arena saying their resignation as ‘hasty move’. JD(S) has called its state executive meeting today in Bangalore to discuss the same power transfer issue. He denied the speculation in air that he may go to seek confidence vote in state assembly.

Both the parties are busy preparing their strategies to solve Karnataka crisis. Clouds of uncertainty will be over only after the meetings of both the parties are over.
