Islamabad, June 14 (ANI): At least eight people were killed and 15 others were injured in a powerful bomb blast which rocked Dera Ismail Khan in Pakistan on Sunday.
he blast took place in the Tijarat Ganj Market area of DI Khan and was so powerful that it destroyed several vehicles and shops.
Relief and rescue departments was pressed into service immediately after the blast. The wounded have been shifted to the district hospital, where the condition of seven persons was stated to be serious.
The blast was reportedly triggered off by a timer device. The bomb was planted near a shop owned by Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leader Raja Akhtar Ali, Mohsin Shah, a police official, said.
Security officials claimed that a suspect has been arrested, and is being interrogated, The News reports. (ANI)
