Varanasi, June 12 (ANI): An annual training camp for air wing NCC (national cadet corps) cadets is being held in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi town.
Located at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) campus, the fortnight long camp has given an opportunity to the cadets to participate in various activities like flying, aero modelling, parasailing, drill competition, range firing, micro light and many others.
For cadets' health and fitness, a variety of sports and yoga sessions have also been included in the camp.
NCC cadets on Thursday participated in parasailing and air show, which was part of the combined annual training programme.
Young cadets of both genders participating in the training camp were thrilled after performing the adventure sports.
"I want to join Air force in the future. I thought joining this training camp is the first step towards my goal. They have taught us many things here that will help us to join Air force. Here we have been provided training about everything including aero modelling, Parasailing and drill," said Jyotika Mazumdar, a girl cadet at the camp.
Senior Air Force officers are providing the training to instil a feeling of leading a disciplined life and develop patriotism in them.
"Through this NCC training we are trying to make youth more disciplined and also building up unity besides generating a feeling of patriotism in them. Young minds are provided with opportunities that they normally don't get in their school and colleges. NCC training provides them different exposures," said Tarun Singha, Wing Commander at the camp.
The NCC camp, which commenced on June 8, will last till June 17.
