7 killed, many injured in serial mosque blasts in Lahore, Nowshera on Bloody Friday

Lahore, June 12 (ANI): At least seven persons have been reportedly killed and several others injured in serial bomb blasts which rocked two mosques in Nowshera and Lahore.

According to sources the blasts took place after the juma prayers.

The mosques were teeming with people offering Friday prayers when the blasts occurred, and it is feared that the casualties could rise.

Emergency services have been pressed into service, and the injured people have been rushed to local hospitals

Three persons were killed in the blast in Nowshera , while four others including Jamia Naeemia principal Dr Sarfraz Naeemi were killed and several others injured in the suicide blast at Jamia Naeemia situated in Garhi Shahu area in Lahore.

According to The News, Jamia Naeemia principal Dr Sarfraz Naeemi was present at his office at the Jamia Naeemia at the time of blast.

The blast was so powerful that the outer walls of the Jamia Naeemia Masjid collapsed completely.elief and rescue operations were on till the reports last filtered in. (ANI)
