Ronaldo to go for hernia operation, likely to miss match against Estonia

London, Tue, 09 Jun 2009 ANI

London, June 9 (ANI): Portuguese and Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo has pulled out of Portugal's friendly clash in Estonia tomorrow amid fears he could need a hernia operation.

The Manchester United winger complained of a groin injury towards the end of their last gasp World Cup qualifying win in Albania on Saturday.

According to The Sun, he was concerned it could be related to a hernia so will have tests in Lisbon to establish if surgery is needed.

If he does, Ronaldo, 24, is likely to spend much of the close season recovering and that would threaten his inclusion on United's Far East tour.

He has avoided talking about his future while on international duty as Real Madrid weigh up a renewed move for him.(ANI)
