Washington, Aug 7 (ANI): American actor George Clooney would like to assist U.S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama in getting financial support, by hosting a dinner for him.
The dinner is bound to be a ritzy experience, as Clooney will be holding the two-part gala in Geneva, Switzerland, instead of America.
As per the plan, the Ocean's Eleven star will be speaking to rich fans and local tycoons at a private reception on 2 September (08) for 1,000 dollars. He will then host a dinner for 75 guests, who pay 10,000 dollars for a seat.
All the money collected from the do will go towards Obama's campaign.
Clooney, at the start, had insisted that he would not be backing either Obama or his Republican rival Senator John MCCain, so the dinner party fundraiser is quite a turnaround for him.
"I feel that at times you can harm the person that you are trying to help. I don't want to damage anybody," Contactmusic quoted him as telling CNN. (ANI)
