New Delhi, Aug 6 (ANI): Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor today blamed Pakistan's premier spy agency Inter Services Intelligence for being behind the blast at the Indian Embassy in Kabul, and asked Islamabad to rein in ISI and dismantle the terrorist infrastructure nurtured over the years.
"The blasts at Indian Embassy in Kabul very clearly indicated hand of ISI in this plot," said General Kapoor while speaking on the role of the Indian Army in changing security paradigm at USI here.
He said that Pakistan's assistance and abetment to terrorism continues even as the support infrastructure of terrorists remain intact and "we in the state of Jammu and Kashmir are feeling the burnt of it."
"However, the biggest challenge for Pakistan is to moderate largely radicalised section of the society, rein in the ISI and dismantle the terror infrastructure nurtured over the years," General Kapoor added.
He further said that situation in Pakistan is fluid and confrontation is going on between the polity and the President and fragility of institutions like judiciary is going to occupy the centre stage in the near future.
Replying to a question of Pakistan's Defence Attach? Brigadier Iqbal that his country has suffered most in the War on Terror, General Kapoor said; "If terrorism is afflicting this region it is better to join forces to root this menace out so that development can take place."
Commenting on Afghan situation, he said: "Afghanistan is emerging as key on war on terror. Taliban would not be force to reckon with unless supported by outside forces financially and militarily. The blasts at Indian Embassy in Kabul shows unless and until support to Taliban stops from outside the US-led coalition forces are going to stay there for longer period." y Praful Kumar Singh (ANI)
